The short answer: which virtual museum gift for whom
We make Memuseo, so read this as a comparison written by one of the options. Every fact about another product comes from that product's own public page, checked on November 1, 2026, and we've tried to say plainly where the others do better than we do.
- You want an object they can hold and keep on a shelf: a Museum of Us frame or kit. No link replaces that.
- You want to walk through it at the same time, or add a video and dozens of photos: Giftvera Our Museum, with up to four visitors at once and 6 to 45 photos.
- You want more photos in story-led rooms and an invitation you can schedule: Museum of You, with up to 24 photographs.
- You want a song, a voice note or an animated world other than a gallery: Forevermore, whose Gallery Wall is one of 31 worlds.
- You want a story behind every photo, two little characters of you both, a final room that reveals your message and eight languages, from €9.99: Memuseo.
- You're building an art show or a class project: an exhibition builder such as Artsteps or Kunstmatrix, not a gift tool.

Each option: what it does well, and who it suits
Giftvera Our Museum. The idea closest to ours, with real strengths. Up to four people can walk the halls together, each from their own device, with names and chat; a film of up to 60 seconds can play on a gallery screen; you can hang 6 to 45 photos, the first one as a centerpiece; AI can draft the words; and there's a free demo. On the other side, the listed price includes one month online, with longer terms as paid extras, and the product page doesn't mention a story per photo or a final reveal. It suits couples who want to visit at the same time, or who have many photos and a video to share.
Museum of You. Also a private virtual museum built from photos and short stories: up to 24 photographs arranged into story-led rooms, with a dedication, an unlisted link with an optional passcode, and an invitation sent now or scheduled for later. The recipient needs no account. Creating and previewing are free, and you pay once; its price loads live on the page, so we couldn't record it. Hosting is for a set term, not for life. Its real advantages over us: more photos and scheduled sending. It suits someone with a bigger photo collection and a lot of story to tell.
Forevermore. Not a museum as such but a collection of 31 animated worlds, one of them a Gallery Wall, where your photos and your message are found along the way, set to a song, with a printable keepsake. Plans are per gift, from Standard (up to 12 photos) to Premium and Deluxe (up to 30 photos, videos, a voice note, your own music), and the site says gifts never expire. It suits people who want music, video or a theme other than a gallery.
Museum of Us frames and kits. The trend started here: a shadow box with mini frames and tiny figures, sold by many shops, made at home, or printed from free 3D-printable files. It's a real object, which no link can be. It takes shipping or crafting time, holds a handful of small photos, and the story behind each one stays in your head unless you add labels. It suits a gift handed over in person, with time to spare before the date.
Love-page and link-gift sites. Photo, letter and music pages, sometimes with 3D boxes or roses, often free or a few euros. Quick and cheap, but none of the ones we checked offers a museum.
Exhibition builders such as Artsteps and Kunstmatrix. Made for artists, galleries and classrooms: you build a 3D space and hang works in it. Artsteps has a free core; Kunstmatrix offers a free trial without a public exhibition, then monthly plans. They take an account and some time to learn, and they have no characters or reveal. They suit an art show or a school project far better than a gift.
Memuseo. A small 3D museum of five to ten memories, each with a title, a date and the story behind it on a brass plaque; two stylized characters of you both, walking side by side; and a final room that reveals your message once every memory is found. It's built for phones first, works in eight languages, costs €9.99 or €14.99 once, and stays online for 2 years from the purchase under our Terms. What it doesn't do: more than ten photos, video, your own music, or several visitors walking together at the same time.

Museum of Us frame vs digital: the honest trade-off
A physical frame has one thing a link will never have: it sits on a shelf, and guests ask about it. If you'll hand it over in person and have time for shipping or crafting, it's a lovely gift.
A digital museum wins on different ground. It arrives the moment you send it, which matters for long-distance couples and last-minute dates. Each memory can carry its own story, not just a photo, and the ending can hold a message, a trip or a question. And there's no shipping cost or delay, which counts in the weeks before Valentine's Day and Christmas. You can also do both: the frame for the shelf, the link for the story.
If you're reading Museum of Us frame reviews, remember that frames come from many different sellers, with different materials and shipping times: check the reviews on the shop you're actually buying from. Memuseo is not affiliated with any frame seller, nor with the Museum of Us in San Diego; we use the name only to describe the gift trend.

Building your own: code or a Canva template
Plenty of people make their Museum of Us themselves. Developers build one in code: public projects on GitHub show 3D galleries with avatars, a letter in the last room and a link to share, usually written by hand for one couple. If you're comfortable with JavaScript and 3D, expect it to take far longer than fifteen minutes, plus hosting if you want the link to last.
Without code, a Canva website template or a slide deck can make a clickable museum: a welcome screen, a wall of photos, a few captions. It's cheap and quick, but it stays a flat page or a slideshow rather than a space you walk through.
If you have the skills and the time, building it is a gift in itself. If you'd rather spend fifteen minutes on the memories and the words, that's what ready-made tools are for.
How we keep this comparison up to date
Prices and features on this page were checked on November 1, 2026, on each product's own public page, and for Memuseo on our pricing and Terms. We give no star ratings and quote no reviews, because we can't verify them.
Prices and features change, and this page shows them as they were on that date. If something here is out of date or wrong, about another product or about us, write to the contact address at the bottom of this page and we'll correct it.
